About Me:

Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Louis Fry, and I’m a game enthusiast turned game developer. I have a passion for all things tech and gaming, allowing me to hone my skills and venture into the games design industry. Like many, I have enjoyed playing games from a young age and can attribute some of my best memories to them. However, I also found myself asking why a game developer had chosen to make a specific choice or why they might have compromised another aspect of the game. It was this curiosity that propelled me into the technical aspects of games and technology as a whole.

In year 10, an opportunity to learn more about how computers work on a very technical basis arose. This led me to choose computer science as one of my GCSEs. Computer science quickly became my favorite subject because it was something I was genuinely interested in, and I was surrounded by like-minded individuals in my class. My passion for this subject was evident when I achieved my best grade in Computer Science for my GCSEs, marking a personal triumph as I had to overcome my dyslexia, which had always been my Achilles' heel in academic work.

In 2022, I continued my studies in the games industry at Loughborough College. I pursued a Level 3 Diploma in Games, Animation, and VFX Skills during my time at the college. After the first year, I earned a Distinction in my portfolio grade and achieved a High Merit for my overall grade for year 1.

Beyond my educational achievements, I also have extensive experience with computer hardware. I built my first computer at the age of 12 and have since built and sold approximately ten more computers, with my first sale occurring at the age of 13. When it comes to projects like these, I am a highly motivated and creative individual. I am passionate and dedicated to any project I undertake or am involved with. I particularly enjoy working with my hands, as evidenced by my involvement with PCs and several other projects that required meticulous soldering and patience.
